Making alternative healthcare easily accessible and affordable
Ozark Herbalist, LLC was started out of a need to provide complementary and alternative medicine to clients in our area. It is an extension of Hixson Drug Inc, a home-owned and operated pharmacy here in Southwest Missouri.
We have owned Hixson Drug since July of 1979 and we have a long history of providing for the healthcare needs of our community. We are solely vested in this endeavor to make alternative healthcare easily accessible and affordable to our clients.
Now, let me explain the “we” in the above paragraph.
We are Carl and Carolyn Hefner and we have lived and invested in this community since 1979. Carl is a pharmacist and I am the driving force of our Ozark Herbalist, LLC. Carl has dedicated his life to the pharmacy and the community to which it serves. He plays golf but I understand he needs to play a lot more!
As for myself, having graduated nursing school in St. Louis, I practiced Critical Care Nursing until 1987 , then left clinical nursing to work with Abbott Laboratories. I am involved with my horses and have been to the point of my family insisting I have a disorder because of my obsession. If you have pets (including horses) you know what I mean. Currently we own several horses but my joy is my paint reining stallion, Gunnered, who has done well at reining. I am currently figuring out how to maneuver this highly trained horse while remembering a pattern at the same time, AND compete with others half my age. This is a challenge for any rider and I won’t let my age show!
Being physically active my entire life, I am looking for ways to maintain my vitality as the aging process continues. My own experience with traditional Western medicine is the motivation for helping others with similar circumstances. My goal is to focus on wellness and improve our health by natural means.
There are those circumstances where prescriptions are necessary and we will complement the use of traditional Western medicine. We will work with you and your health care team to balance your body so that you may enjoy maximal health as God intended.
What is MSA Testing?
